The Melting of Greenland’s Ice Sheet has been melting at a very high speed for the last few years. This is an alarm bell. Nature is warning us time and again, to be alert. But we are still not able to take the right steps.
The life cycle is necessary to maintain the balance of nature. In which all living beings, animals, birds and humans depend on each other. But due to climate change, many species are likely to become extinct. Which is terrifying.
International conferences on climate change are held every year. In which representation and intellectual people of all countries are involved. There these people make policies related to the environment.
But these policies are not showing any effect on the ground. Scientist says that, within 3 days, a lot of ice has melted. So that the global sea level will rise.
In these 3 days, 18 tonnes of Greenland ice sheet has melted. A heat wave emanating from the Canadian Arctic Archipelago has caused more snow in northern Greenland to melt.
But in the month of July, compared to the previous years, so far the maximum snow has melted. This time the melting of snow is above the average level.
In Greenland and Antarctica, where there is an ice sheet, the melting of ice has continued at a rapid pace in the last few years.
According to the scientist, all this is happening due to Global Warming. If it continues like this, the sea level will rise by 17 cm. So that the chances of flooding in the coastal cities will increase.
Researcher Kutalmis Saylam said that “in the past we could wander around in our t-shirt that was not really expected”. He further says that ” it definitely worries me”.
Grinsted said that “the temperature is very hot at the moment. We store ice cores in artificial caves. We made it in snow to protect it from the heat”.
NASA scientists in Greenland are measuring how much ice has melted in the Arctic Ocean. NASA scientists are doing their own research, they want to collect better data than satellite.
Polar bears need sea ice to hunt the seals. Polar bears are facing the biggest problem due to the melting of the ice sheet.
