In a Quantum Computer, information is stored in the form of Qubits. It has the property of superposition. Quantum computers are millions of billions of times faster than classical computers.

Whereas classical computers store information in units called bits. It is stored in the form of zero, one, photo, video, text etc.

Quantum Computers are not yet built for the use of the general public. These are used only by big tech companies. Nor is work going on on quantum computers for the use of common people.

Quantum computers can perform countless computations with numbers ranging from 300 to 400 qubits. Quantum Computers can calculate even more numbers than the stars and galaxies in our universe.

Classical computers have a limitation in storing data. They cannot store data more than a limit. But this is not the case with quantum computers. Quantum Computers can store a lot of data. Its limit is endless. It can store data in the amount of millions of crores.

The biggest difference between a Classical Computer and a quantum computer is that a classical computer has either zero or one, nothing in between.

Whereas in a Quantum Computer there can be a superposition between zero and one. Both zero and one can happen at the same time.

Threat

But in terms of Cyber security, quantum computers are a very big threat. At the moment it is used by big tech companies. Because of which its use is quite safe.

But when it is made for the common people, it is likely to increase cyber crime. Because nothing is encrypted in it like a classic computer. Anyone can Decrypt it.

Big giants like IBM, Alphabet, Microsoft, Alibaba, Intel, Airbus and Toshiba are engaged in making this. These companies are investing in this technology in a very big way.

Research is going on on this even today. Quantum computers will help with artificial intelligence, machine learning and big data in general.

Quantum computer works in Qubits. So this will help a lot in Artificial Intelligence. Because it will be able to work like a human brain. It will also be able to react in complex situations.

Which is the basis of Artificial Intelligence. Quantum computer is able to solve an equation faster than classical computer. It also solves complex equations within a few seconds.

Quantum Supremacy & Google’s Research

  • The term Quantum Supremacy was first introduced by John Preskill in 2012. He was a professor of theoretical physics at the California Institute of Technology.
  • Google says publicly on 23 October 2019 that it has demonstrated quantum supremacy. Researchers at Google have found that a quantum computer solved a complex calculation in 200 seconds. Whereas the supercomputer would have taken at least 10000 years to solve this complex calculation, when it could do it.
  • Google is working on a large scale in making quantum computers and it claims that it will make quantum computers by 2030. Whose research is going on in California in a company called Google Artificial Intelligence.
  • Quantum computers were introduced in the 1980s. Quantum computers will play an important role in finance, military, aerospace, intelligence, medical services, nuclear and manufacturing etc. If successful, quantum computers will revolutionize these areas. At present, the classical computer is the best option for everyday use.
  • Countries like America, Germany, France, Netherlands, Japan, India and China are investing in quantum technology in a very big way. Research on quantum computers has been going on in these countries for a long time. In the coming 10 to 15 years, we will also get to see quantum computers in the use of common people.
